• Identify, collect, synthesize, and analyze data, review and clean data, merge data from various datasets as needed.
  • Conduct and interpret statistical analyses using statistical software (for example, R and Stata); conduct exploratory and confirmatory statistical analysis; use analysis to inform the construction of predictive models and to identify data trends and features
  • Technical expertise and application with working knowledge of experimental design and statistical analysis, particularly with generalized linear models, mixed models, and fixed effects models.
  • Resolve data issues including missing data or dropouts from longitudinal studies with creative solutions, in coordination with lead Principal Investigators of the research project
  • Construct tables and graphs; develop analytical models; and produce reports to support and inform decision making. Using data that has been extracted and analyzed, provide means for conveying information contained in that data to others through tables, graphs, models, and textual reports. Reduce technical results into information that can be easily and quickly understood by lead Principal Investigators on each project. Build dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations
  • Continually review data analysis tools and frameworks, and recommend improvements to keep pace with continually evolving needs of the center
  • Must be able to clearly convey complicated statistical concepts to non-quantitative scientists




  • Master’s degree in statistics or biostatistics, or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in an academic data analysis role
  • Previous experience working with databases and cleaning data
  • Ability to work on multiple research projects simultaneously
  • Understanding of data confidentiality principles and having impeccable research ethics are required
  • Strong skills in data management and the use of STATA and R
  • Logic, quantitative and analytical skills; deductive reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Has a good balance between the ability to follow specific instructions and the use of critical thinking to propose new and creative solutions
  • Teamwork and leadership skills; ability to provide statistical leadership and technical expertise to influence decision making
  • Must be able to work independently and with a diverse group of people
  • SQL programming experience a plus
