Contact the backlog of applicants submitting electronic interest cards for more details about this career/profession and the process. Respond to backlog of emails from applicants using the HFD Recruiting email inbox. Contact and follow up with a backlog of qualified applicants to assist in coordinating and finalizing steps in the process to participate in the Civil Service Exam. Contact various entities to coordinate scheduled presentations for 18-35 year olds. Track and update contact information and status of all activities associated with each recruiting event. Daily management of various spreadsheets (recruiting activity info, interest cards sheet, applicant data) to ensure data is always accurate. Provide and update reports of activities and progress weekly. Assist with advertising strategies. Review backlog of Handshake platform activities. Complete various registration documents for participation in recruiting events. Participate in recruiting meetings and events (career fairs, table set ups, drop off information, and presentations).
Performs various traditional and non-traditional recruiting activities. Request, receive, maintain, name documents, and organize verification documents for new applicants by managing email box. Verify minimum qualifications are met by reviewing transcripts and military documents. Respond to applicant inquiries and questions regarding the hiring process at various stages of the process. Coordinate and develop electronic invitations for written exams. Schedule all Physical Abilities Tests. Participate in the administration of the Physical Abilities Test and Civil Service Exam. Database Management for all steps in the hiring process. Process applicants by administering questionnaires, analyzing extensive background data, and interpreting guidelines. Audit the test scores verify military points. Monitor and manage various promotional spreadsheets to authorize the appropriate promotion in each rank. Coordinate all steps in the promotional process (drug testing, oath of office, promotion memos, etc.).
Become familiar with governing documents (i.e. contracts, state laws, guidelines, etc.). Audit files for accuracy. Communication Skills, Recruiting, Interviewing Skills, Results Driven, Professionalism, Organization, Project Management, Problem Solving, Teamwork, Attention to Detail* (proofreading, double checking, auditing, and reviewing the work), Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Applications* (Advanced in Excel)
KNOWLEDGE: Requires a bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Social Science, Liberal Arts, or a related field
EXPERIENCE: Three years of related professional experience in human resources are required. Pertinent experience at the professional level may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
