WASTE MANAGEMENT LABORER

Riding on the back of a rear loader collecting recycle garbage cans dumping them in the back truck and also collecting up yard waste, Dumping heavy trash into the truck. Will also empty, clean and operate packer control on collection truck. Answer citizens questions regarding proper contents. This position requires for you to furnish your own safety boots. Will have to work in extreme weather conditions (rain/heat). Must attend Safety Training before reporting to work location.

KNOWLEDGE: Very fundamental levels of the ability to read, write and follow simple oral instructions as might normally be acquired through up to 8 years of formal schooling. No experience is required.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: The position involves considerable physical exertion, such as regular climbing of ladders, lifting of heavy objects (up to 80 pounds) on a highly frequent basis and/or assuming awkward positions for long periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: There are routine exposures to significant levels of heat, cold, moisture and air pollution. The position may involve periodic exposure to chemical substances and physical trauma of a minor nature such as cuts, bruises and minor burns.

PHYSICAL SKILL: Requires the ability to make simple gross motor responses within large tolerances.
